The streets are steep and narrow and are characterized by colonial buildings (including San Francisco, The Company of Jesus and the Great Cathedral).

5 minutes from the historic center, up the hill, is El Panecillo; the statue of the Virgin of Quito that overlooks Quito. From here you have a beautiful view of the city and on a clear day you can see the peaks of the volcanoes that surround Quito. We also visit La Mitad del Mundo. Who does not want to have stepped on the Center of the World?!
